Rotaract AscenCon 2024 FAQ

1. What is Rotaract AscenCon 2024?

Rotaract AscenCon 2024 is the first-ever in-person conference organized by Ascension Rotaract Network, specifically designed for members of Rotaract clubs and their supporters in North America. It aims to provide a space for connection, learning, and growth for young leaders dedicated to service.

 

2. When and where is the event taking place?

The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago O'Hare Rosemont, located at 5500 N River Rd, Rosemont, IL 60018, USA, from Friday, August 9th, 2024, starting after 4:00 pm, until Saturday, August 10th, 2024, concluding at 11:59 pm CDT.

 

3. What does the conference ticket include?

Your ticket includes two nights' accommodation at the hotel, two days of educational programming, access to a welcome party, a celebration gala dinner, and an opportunity to participate in a community service project.

 

4. Will there be an opportunity to explore around the Chicago area?

Yes. In addition to the conference, there will be “pre” and “post” conference opportunities to explore with others - such as touring Rotary International's Headquarters. 5. Are there any optional activities happening before or after the conference?

6. Is there a registration deadline?

Yes, the registration deadline is July 18th, 2024. However, tickets may be wait-listed if they have not been sold out yet. You can join the wait list to request a ticket.

 

7. Can I join even if I'm not a Rotaract member?

While the conference is primarily targeted at Rotaract and Rotary members, non-members with similar interests in service and leadership development are welcome to attend.

 

8. Is there an age limit for attendees?

This conference is intended for people involved in or are supporting Rotaract - which is an organization for adults (ages 18+).

10.  Is there assistance available for international attendees regarding travel and accommodation?

Ascension Rotaract Network can provide guidance and recommendations for travel and accommodation options for international attendees. For assistance, please contact the event organizers.

11.  Do I need a visa to attend the conference?

International attendees should check the visa requirements for traveling to the United States and apply for any necessary visas before the event. Ascension Rotaract Network can provide letters of invitation to assist with visa applications upon request.

 

12.  Is financial support or scholarships available?

While Ascension Rotaract Network is not able to offer financial support to attendees who are in need, assistance may be available from alternative sources (e.g. your Districts, Sponsor Rotary Clubs, or your club)

 

13. What measures are in place to accommodate dietary restrictions for attendees?

Ascension Rotaract Network will work with the conference venue and catering services to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences for all attendees, including international guests. Please inform the organizers of any dietary restrictions when registering for the event.

 

14. What is the dress code?

Casual for most of the conference except for the Gala, which will be formal attire

 

15. Can I stay for additional nights at the hotel (beyond just Friday night and Saturday night)?

Yes! Please fill out this Google form to indicate which additional nights you’d like to stay at the conference hotel.
