What does MDIO stand for?

MDIO is a multi-district information organization. It is an organization of multiple districts that disseminates information about Rotaract for Rotaract and their Rotary partners.
Q:
How does my club join Ascension Rotaract Network MDIO?
A:
Individual clubs cannot become members of a MDIO per Rotary International policy. However, Rotary districts can become members by signing the Consent to Join document in the resource section.
Q:
What signatures do I need to join Ascension?
A:
Rotary International requires the signature of the current District Governor and District Rotaract Representative.
Q:
What if our district does not have a District Rotaract Representative?
A:
If you do not have a District Rotaract Representative, that is okay! Your District Governor can appoint a proxy to serve as the liaison between your district and Ascension for the time being. Districts have either appointed a Rotaractor to serve or have had the District Rotaract Chair serve in this position for the initial year.

What is the difference between a District Rotaract Representative and District Rotaract Chair?
A:
District Rotaract Representative is an elected Rotaractor who serves as the Rotaract voice in the district. Typically, they would co-chair the District Rotaract Committee with the District Rotaract Chair. The District Rotaract Chair is an appointed Rotarian by the District Governor to advocate for Rotaract at the district level.

Are there any costs associated with being a member of Ascension?
A:
No, we operate on donations and fundraising only.
Q:
Does my district have to sign a new consent every Rotary year?
A:
Nope, the membership automatically renews every year. You can opt out at any point if you wish.
Q:
How are Ascension's meetings conducted?
A:
All of our meetings are conducted virtually through a video conference platform.
