FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:

What does MDIO stand for?

A:

MDIO is a multi-district information organization. It is an organization of multiple districts that disseminates information about Rotaract for Rotaract and their Rotary partners.

Q:

How does my club join Ascension Rotaract Network MDIO?

A:

Individual clubs cannot become members of a MDIO per Rotary International policy. However, Rotary districts can become members by signing the Consent to Join document in the resource section.

Q:

What signatures do I need to join Ascension?

A:

Rotary International requires the signature of the current District Governor and District Rotaract Representative.

Q:

What if our district does not have a District Rotaract Representative?

A:

If you do not have a District Rotaract Representative, that is okay! Your District Governor can appoint a proxy to serve as the liaison between your district and Ascension for the time being. Districts have either appointed a Rotaractor to serve or have had the District Rotaract Chair serve in this position for the initial year.

Q:

What is the difference between a District Rotaract Representative and District Rotaract Chair?

A:

District Rotaract Representative is an elected Rotaractor who serves as the Rotaract voice in the district. Typically, they would co-chair the District Rotaract Committee with the District Rotaract Chair. The District Rotaract Chair is an appointed Rotarian by the District Governor to advocate for Rotaract at the district level.

Q:

Are there any costs associated with being a member of Ascension?

A:

No, we operate on donations and fundraising only.

Q:

Does my district have to sign a new consent every Rotary year?

A:

Nope, the membership automatically renews every year. You can opt out at any point if you wish.

Q:

How are Ascension's meetings conducted?

A:

All of our meetings are conducted virtually through a video conference platform.
